Julie Chen Moonves hosted the popular reality TV show in the summer of Big Brother which returned to CBS for its 22nd season on August 5. Chen Moonves had been The Talk's first hosts, hosting and moderating the talk show from 2010 until the year 2018. She was a journalist before she became a host, but her passion was to write. In fact, it brought her an Emmy. Then she won a second Emmy for her role as host of an outstanding entertainment talk program. The Talk examines contemporary events, through the lens of five female hostesses. Chen Moonves hosted CBS News the early morning news show The Early Show for a 10 years. Prior to that she was the news anchor of The Early Show and anchor for the CBS Morning News, the CBS Television Network's early-morning, half-hour broadcast.Chen Moonves reported on several important news events on The Early Show, including the war of 2003 in Iraq. In the wake of 9/11 Chen Moonves was able to track down the father and lead hijacker to give an exclusive interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers such as the former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, queen Rania of Jordan, former Defence Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities like Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves covered the Emmy Award-winning CBS Sunday Morning News program. The show featured celebrities such as Jamie Lee Curtis or Paula Abdul. Prior to The Early Show he was a CBS affiliated station's reporter for New York City, WCBS. Prior to joining CBS News, Chen Moonves was a reporter for WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997). Also, she worked for ABC NewsOne from 1992-1995. This was her first time working in broadcasting, as a desk assistant for ABC News' late-night show Nightline With Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is still among her favorite journalists. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel on the Columbia duPont-winning special Anatomy of a Riot which was a look at the Los Angeles riots of '92.
